Catholic State Meet

Prior to the fall of 1974 non-public schools were not allowed to participate in MSHSL Meets. Beginning in 1946 the Catholic High Schools competed in their own meet. It was sponsored by Minnesota Catholic Education Association (MCEA). From 1969 to 1974 the MCEA changed the name of the meet to the Minnesota State Independent School Meet and allowed all non-public schools to participate.

Private schools which were not Catholic had their own state meet (the Minnesota Independent School League) from 1947 to 1968.
